Improvements to global competencies
Global Field Study Challenge
- The Department provided its students with various opportunities for overseas field trips, including immersive practical programs at overseas corporations, to help them plan for their future careers and become professionals who can be genuinely competent on the global stage.
- Students were able to improve their understanding of Southeast Asia and their ability to communicate in foreign languages thanks to a program hosted in English by a business school at a sister university in Vietnam.
Global Citizenship Challenge
- The Department recruited and managed a group of volunteers looking to work on the global stage. Through its Global Citizenship Challenge, the Department channeled the enthusiasm and aspirations of these volunteers to help them grow as global citizens, develop leadership on a global level, and pursue social values expected of global citizens.
“Global DNA” Special Lecture Series
- The Department offered a special lecture program inviting foreign experts to help its students become better versed in global affairs.
- With special lectures hosted by foreign experts across a number of different fields, the Department encouraged its students to seek employment opportunities overseas, and gave them the opportunity to establish personal networks with the invited speakers.
Global Start-up Idea Contest
- The Department hosted a Global Start-up Idea Contest to give its domestic and international students a chance to improve their global entrepreneurship capabilities by developing start-up ideas together. The Contest also gave students an opportunity to find better ways of cooperating and communicating with people from around the world.
My Friendship Diary program
- The “My Friendship Diary” program was created to help domestic and international students improve their capacities to collaborate and communicate. With this language exchange program, the Department looked to create a culture of organic collaboration between its Korean and international students.
Strengthening the support for employment seekers and prospective start-ups
Autonomous Committee for the Academic Development of International Students
- The Department created an Autonomous Committee for the Academic Development of International Students at the Department featuring three Chinese student representatives three Vietnamese student representatives. The Committee works to identify problems and difficulties hindering the practical learning experience of international studies, and finding solutions to help improve upon detrimental conditions.
Special lecture on employment and start-up opportunities for international students
- The Department hosted special lectures on employment and start-up opportunities for international students to help its international students find employment or create their own start-up in Korea upon graduation, and to motivate/instill confidence regarding their career prospects.
- These special lectures also helped domestic students work with international students and seek out new start-up opportunities in overseas markets.
